the more we accept the world as it is,
the more readily forgiveness and gratitude appear
Ripples from a little-boat life
the more we accept the world as it is,
the more readily forgiveness and gratitude appear
with life not turning out
as wanted, expected, hoped –
why this gratitude?
not driving freeway,
cooking today’s curry –
ordinary bliss
reading the news,
reflecting on my life
(if even for a petty reason) . . .
gratefulness
moments of grace are, by definition, always undeserved
what luck, what grace,
just to be doing it,
not having to do it right
when everything is given
nothing is required
and gratitude alone remains
there are few greater blessings than a quiet mind in the morning
dancing on the good foot,
getting down on the one:
white boy lost in the funk
for James Brown r.i.p.
all gifts come from the gift of this moment
just before the shops open,
a parking place in Chinatown –
luck!
